Our kids bought us a Litter Robot when we got Forest from a shelter; he took to it immediately. But we started to notice dried poop on the floor after a while. We got a cat cam — he watches the thing spin, reaches in and flips a couple of pieces of poop out over his shoulder. He seems to find it funny. It pretty much is, since it’s easy to clean up. A helpful young man at the Litter Robot company sent us a fence to put in the front, and it has helped, but Forest still manages a few flips every week. He has toys and I play with him every day, so it’s not boredom. Maybe it’s scientific curiosity.

I can attest to how loud each one was. There were black, Calico, Manx, Siamese and Persian cats throughout my childhood into adulthood. While each holds a part of my heart, the red cats have most. Bobbi, Ginny, JenJen, Ms. Berry, Mary, Cat, CJ, RB (Red Brick), and a few more, were talkers, sing-song trillers, and screechers. CJ had a white coat with a red saddle, a ringed tail and freckles on his face. He was the most demanding and of all, the loudest. Reds are definitely the best! I do love my black old man Spookers (gone at 22) and our other kitties too.

A question: If reds are boys, then why are calicos girls?

Any suggestions would be appreciated as we paid a lot of money for this and want to make the most of it's features!

Comment on Can Cats Feel Love? Vet Reviewed Facts & Considerations by Larry Fine https://www.catster.com/lifestyle/can-cats-feel-love-updated/#comment-6190 Thu, 13 Feb 2025 02:09:23 +0000 https://www.catster.com/?p=688615#comment-6190 Thanks for this article. Lots of first time cat parents may not be aware of these facts. We are down to 7 cats from a grand rescue of 20! They were tame but outside kitties. Over the last ten years the cat family has dwindled. We must stay at or about this many. However, we acknowledge that if we spotted a lone kitten, especially near a road, it’s coming home!
Two of our cats will immediately get on top of us as soon as we lay down. They are all very trusting. Yet they have their unique personalities and quirks. One overweight tuxedo girl is doing a strange thing lately: when her back is scratched, she will start licking. You stop, she stops. If she’s on you, she’ll lick you. If she’s just being scratched, she’ll lick whatever is near. Not sure what this means, but it may be her form of neurosis.
All of our cats are indoor only. They have cat trees and scratching pads, etc. There are many predators in more rural areas nowadays. They also succumb to vehicles and diseases. It’s sad to see. It’s also sad that they can’t live the total life of a cat. But sadder still when they ‘disappear’.
